History Day

Oor high School kids at Dora Schools put on a history day. We had a half day before Spring Break and they used it well! All of the younger kids proceeded to have a guided tour to various points in American History.
The older students did an incredible job making various times in history immediate and fun. The dressed up the rooms, had kids crawling through tunnels, tug of warfare and costumes made this day memorable.

However, the best part was while in the American Revolution with the third graders. This group is smart, wry and cheeky. The High School student dressed as George Washington was their own teacher's son. The know him well.
He recruited a bunch of students to the "Patriot" side of the room and then started talking to them.

"Who am I?" he asked, remember he is dressed as George Washington, complete with white wig.

"You're Ethan!" they yelled.

"Okay, who else am I?" he asked, trying to guide them.

"You're a senior" they yelled again, giggling.

"Okay, who am I pretending to be?" ready to start thumping heads.

"Your George Washington!"

Extra points for his patience!
